“Portraits of the Yimby Neighborhoods” introduces the people behind the local businesses who energize the living environment in which our residential complexes are located. The idea is to provide a feel for the neighborhood beyond its apartments and common areas. Today we talk with Anaïs Beaupré about her osteopathy practice and the effervescence of the Rosemont neighborhood in which she spends much of her day.

Anaïs Beaupré completed her master's degree in neuroscience following undergraduate studies in biomedical sciences. Her focus and concerns relate to pain, which is a growing issue in society. "Developing an understanding of the mechanisms underlying pain and how it is expressed in people gives me the ability to provide personalized service and care," she explains.
Beaupré’s complementary training in osteopathy opened new doors. "I increasingly specialize in disorders related to chronic pain, such as back pain and fibromyalgia," she notes.
One of the key factors that drove Beaupré to practice osteopathy was the ability to make a difference in people’s lives. "It's very touching when we hear people suffering from fibromyalgia, or chronic back pain tell us that we have improved their quality of life and helped them to progress," says the young osteopath. “It's the best job in the world because we get the chance to help people feel better."
ENOSI CliniqueMulti services far more than just chronic pain sufferers. "The manual therapy in osteopathy has much broader uses and applications than many believe," explains Beaupré.
For example if you are part of the Yimby running club, it might interest you to know that many runners in Rosemont are also clients of Beaupré and Jérémie Croc, her colleague and co-owner of the clinic, who is a top level athlete whose professional practice is focused on sports related osteopathy.
"Sports osteopathy deals primarily with prevention and preparation during training," says Beaupré. "An osteopath who works with athletes understands the biomechanics of the body and can anticipate and help prevent common injuries."
Runners who use osteopathy services to help prevent injuries and pain perform better at all levels! “It's not just for top athletes," explains Beaupré who also occasionally mixes running into her training regime. “Casual athletes can benefit too.”
According to Jérémie Croc, Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie offers two great locations to enjoy running. These include Parc Maisonneuve and the Réseau-Vert, a multifunctional 3 kilometer track which runs along the Canadian Pacific railroad network, from Fullum to Beaubien Streets.
So what should members of our running club watch out for? "Injuries related to overtraining or to an increase in intensity are important to prevent,” says Beaupré. “We see a lot of problems with the hips, knees and ankles. Running remains a beneficial activity for our health and our joints. You just have to know how to listen to your body.”
When the two osteopaths are not running or working, they love to take advantage of the best of what Promenade Masson has to offer. "I take my coffee at Pista which is located in front of the office," says Beaupré. “There are plenty of shops! It's a very active and interesting neighborhood life."
Jeremiah Croc for his part lives on 4th Avenue right near the clinic and is also a big fan of Pista, particularly their famous chai latte. Other local attractions include Co'Pains D'Abord, which is famous for its baguettes and pastries, and the Mojito & Margarita restaurant, which specializes in colorful Cuban and Mexican cuisine. Jérémie also recommends the Tik Tak Toc game store, which has become a real institution in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie during the past 10 years.
